@klausweasley I think Irv would have? predicted Hugo had he seen it before we made his initial prediction video (which was, if I recall right, the 1st week of November or thereabouts). But hey — he did get the other eight BP nominees spot on (predicting they’d only have eight nominees), so I think he deserves 99.9% credit, yes? Thanks 4 watching & writing in.
You didn’t predict HUGO?!? That was already locked in since November. It got nommed for the Globes and nearly? all the guilds.

@MoviesUnlimitedInc just checked? the plots of the nominated docs, and I agree that Paradise Lost sounds the baitiest, but who knows, maybe they want to give Wenders one, Pina is the only one I’ve seen from the nominees and it wasn’t bad, but imo not good enough to win, could also be a bit too atsy to hit the Academy’s taste 100% we’ll see

@lolpeut Many Drive fans are no doubt pretty disappointed. The Tintin snub surprised me (Irv’s producer)? too. Haven’t seen it yet–would you say it’s true to the original comix? Thanks for watching & commenting & for the Bullhead recommendation

I tought they would take Drive than, or the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as the last spot in the best picture category.
And as a belgian i have to say: WHY do they not nominate tintin in the animation category? Cause of the cgi? than nominate him for best visual effects atleast?
But i’m happy of course for nominating Bullhead

@Ivanatis Speaking for myself (not for Irv, who will make his own final predictions later), I have a feeling that Paradise Lost 3? is gonna take the doc prize. And, while it might not be the “best” of the three films, much like the third LOTR film, the award will be understoof to be for all three films and the real-life impact they had.
I’m just happy Oldman got in. Thought he could take Leo’s spot, but not sure at all. And Woody of course. With the Artist being pretty much safe for Best Picture? (and probably Director too), I hope Midnight in Paris wins the Screenplay category.
Still shocked about Redgrave’s complete exclusion this awards season while Jonah Hill (who was good, but not great) gets nominated for Bafta, SAG, Globes and Oscars. Also thumbs down for Project Nim’s omission, thought it would win the category.
